Mangroves Conservation on Earth Day

Not just on paper but it turns into action to preserve the environment for a better future life. After do a beach cleaning The Wina Resorts is running its sustainability program to restore the coastal area by planting mangrove trees. We planted 120 Rhizophora Mangrove tree seedlings at the Wana Segara Kertih, Kedonganan on Friday, 12 April 2024.

The main purpose of the event is, because we see the enthusiasm of the Wana Segara Kertih fishermen to build the economy in their area independently with mangrove crab cultivation cages. And, after successfully cultivating mangrove crabs, these fishermen are also aware of protecting the habitat and ecosystem of the mangrove forest which is now known as the Ecotourism Mangrove Wana Segara Kertih Kedonganan. That is one of the reasons we decided to participate in preserving the coastal area by planting mangroves here as it is aligned to our sustainability program.

Organic

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – these three ‘R’ words are an important part of sustainable living, as they help to cut down on the amount of waste we have to throw away.

It’s Really simple!

* Reduce the amount of waste you produce.
* Reuse items as much as you can before replacing them.
* Recycle items wherever possible.

Using the 3 ‘R’s also helps to minimise the amount of space needed for landfill sites, where waste materials are disposed of.

This training aims to increase awareness of the importance of waste management and processing organic waste into compost that is beneficial for the environment. Composting is not just a waste management strategy; it’s a commitment to sustainable practices that resonate with guests and contribute to a healthier planet. The activity is one part of our Sustainability Tourism program for Green Environment.

Our staffs were very enthusiastic about participating in this training. They were taught the steps in collecting, sorting, and processing organic waste into compost. In addition, Bapak Adi (from: Simalu) also explained the benefits of compost for soil and plants, so that staffs can understand the importance of protecting the environment from an early age.

Our activity will be continue…

APAR Training of The Wina Resorts

Inhouse Training of APAR had been held on 19 October 2024 at The Wina Villa Canggu. Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) at Villa is one form of effort to create a workplace that is safe and free from work accidents which can ultimately increase work efficiency and productivity. One way to prevent fires is to increase knowledge of the use of light fire extinguishers (APAR) from the simulation of APAR held by The Wina Resorts Management in collaboration with the Badung Regency Fire Department.

It aims to increase employee awareness of the dangers of fire and to be able to know the action procedures that must be taken when a fire disaster occurs. In hoping that after training, The Wina Resorts employees will be able to explore and gain sufficient knowledge and skills so that there will be no fire incidents in the future.
